  • During initial Training, Group-A Officers are paid a regular salary.

  • At the end of the trainee should pass the training exam.

Group-B:

  • Group-C employees promoted to Group-B posts will be given initial training (Orientation Course) in NAIR and departmental training in respective training institutes.

Group-C: 

  • Candidates recruited for Group-C posts will be given initial training in Zonal Railway Training Institutes (ZRTI)  & Basic Training Centers (BTCs) in Division & Workshops. 

Refresher Course/In-service Training:

  • Besides initial training, refresher courses are organized by concerned CTIs, ZRTIs, and BTCs.       

Training Modules ( syllabus):

  • Railway Board prescribes Training Modules for various trainings. Training Institutes and Training Centers will follow the same. 

 INSERVICE TRAINING

Serving employees who are selected for promotion to higher posts will be given training before posting them to the working post. 

They have to complete in-service training successfully.  

                                   REFRESHER COURSE

Refresher courses are conducted for serving employees to update their working knowledge periodically. 

These courses are conducted in Zonal Training Institutes and BTCs.

Railway Board will prescribe training modules for different posts.

                                              

ACT APPRENTICE

  • It is obligatory on the part of Railways to impart training to outside candidates under the  Apprentice Act, 1961.

  • These candidates are called Act Apprentices.  

  • They will be trained in Railway Production Units, Engineering Workshops, Engineering Depots, and Diesel/Electrical Loco sheds.

  • Railway Board will prescribe the number of candidates to be trained in a year. 

  • After completion of training, they will be discharged. 

  • They do not have any right to recruitment in Railways. 

  • They have to appear for RRB/RRC exam like other candidates.

Apprentices - 3 Types

  • No. of candidates to be trained each year is decided by Railway Board.

  • Trainees are paid a stipend during training.

  • Engagement will be through notification.

  • Age: Not below 15 years and at most 22/24 years.

  • Reservation and age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates are given.

  • At the end of training an examination is conducted and a pass certificate will be issued by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT).

  • Reservation: 20% of vacancies in Railway Recruitment in Group-D posts.
